Except when the consumer response is nearly unanimous. As was the case with Meacham Beauty’s billboard campaign in Morehead City, NC. With an intentionally sagging vinyl and digital billboards that featured words written in reverse, this campaign took the tired old notions of “before-and-afters” and turned em’ on their bald, wrinkly heads.

Performance Payoff: The Before & After billboard went viral on social earning Meacham Beauty a few million extra impressions in earned media. And three months into this campaign, Meacham Beauty opened a second location in Greenville, NC. Coincidence?

Side Story: When it came time for the operations crew to install the vinyl, there was some confusion. Typically, a sagging vinyl is a sh*tty vinyl. It goes against “best practices.” The installation team tried to over correct the exaggerated length of the vinyl, and remove the sagging part altogether.
